ⓘ Gianluca Federighi

Swiss Made. Beyond a Label.

The ALPA 12 STC is crafted from a solid block of AlMgSi AW-6082 aluminum, then brought to life through meticulous fine-tuning. With tolerances of ±0.02 mm, not only the body but especially the shifting elements are adjusted to perfection.

Even with the highest resolution digital backs, the flange distance remains absolutely constant across the entire movement. Any deviation, even by microns, would reduce sharpness. Which is why Swiss precision matters here more than ever.

crafted for generations, not just years

At just 590 grams, the STC is light yet unwavering in stability, a camera built to last for generations.

Integrated Shift Movements

±18 mm horizontal shift, convertible into vertical rise or fall by simple rotation make the ALPA 12 STC the perfect companion for landscape work and architectural precision with distortion-free stitching.

One Camera, Endless Possibilities

Fully modular and adaptable, the ALPA 12 STC fits seamlessly into your creative workflow. Compatible with modern digital backs, and a wide array of exceptional ALPA Rodenstock lenses, it invites you to shape your photographic experience. Each element blends effortlessly, providing intuitive handling and unmatched photographic freedom.

Smooth by Design

Unique rollerbearing-guided mechanics deliver smooth, friction-free movement for absolute accuracy.

Balance in Every Dimension

Three fully analog spirit levels embody the haptic philosophy of ALPA, guiding the 12 STC across every axis: X, Y, and Z. What seems like a small detail is in truth essential for absolute accuracy. In a world of digital overlays, these levels remain immediate, tactile, and reliable. They remind us that real precision is something to feel and to see, not to simulate.

Craft You Can Hold

ALPA handgrips are crafted for the most direct connection between photographer and camera. Available in hand-finished rosewood, they bring natural warmth, timeless beauty, and an ergonomics that improves with every touch. Alternatively, a black soft touch polymer offers a modern, understated option with equal comfort and durability. Whether wood or polymer, each grip is designed to become an extension of your hand. Offered as separate accessories, they make every ALPA uniquely personal.

The Beauty of Control

The adjustment wheel of the ALPA 12 STC is a small masterpiece of mechanical clarity. With its recessed dial it glides between swift movement and delicate fine tuning. The lock secures every setting with quiet certainty. To turn it is to feel the patience of Swiss craft, the elegance of a tool shaped for accuracy and the pleasure of touch.

Precision Etched in Detail

The rear offers a quickrelease thread and a laser-engraved millimeter scale making each adjustment smooth and repeatable. It is here, in these details, that the engineering of the 12 STC becomes visible. A camera that embodies precision, refined to the last micron, and made to endure.

Traces of Craft

The fine microstructures in every ALPA are subtle signatures, revealed only to those who look closely. Like fingerprints in metal, they are delicate traces of a precise creation process. ALPA does not strive for industrial uniformity, but for instruments with personality. Each detail tells its own story, turning every camera into an exceptional piece. As individual as its owner.
