Yuan Ye (1978) was born in Sichuan, southwestern China.

Starting off as a software engineer, he later showed a keen interest in photography and soon became widely recognized for his talent and unique perspective toward life. His major projects include 'The Vestige' and 'People', both taking a documentary look into the lives of ordinary Chinese in this era of change.

All these works will be included in his collection Chen Shi (This Mortal Life in English) to be published by China Photography Press.

‍

He mainly shoots film, but also excels at digital processing.

Yuan Ye currently lives in Sichuan.
